Notes:

Butter Mixture Consistency:

Ensure the butter is fully melted before mixing it with the honey mustard, minced dried onion, and Worcestershire sauce to create a smooth glaze.

Choosing the Ham:

Honey Baked Ham: Opt for a honey baked ham for a touch of sweetness that complements the Hawaiian rolls. If unavailable, any high-quality baked ham will work.

Thickness: Slice the ham thinly for easy layering and even cooking.

Handling Hawaiian Rolls:

Slicing Rolls: Slice the Hawaiian rolls in one piece for ease. This helps in keeping the sliders intact and makes layering easier.

Avoid Dryness: Be careful not to overbake the rolls as they can become dry. The initial 20 minutes covered with foil keeps them moist.

Layering Tips:

Cheese: Place cheese slices evenly to ensure each slider gets a good melt. Consider slightly overlapping the cheese slices to cover the entire surface.

Ham Placement: Layer the ham evenly over the rolls to ensure every slider has a consistent amount of filling.

Butter Sauce Application:

Brushing: Brush the tops of the sliders with the butter sauce mixture generously for a flavorful and golden crust.

Additional Flavors: If you like, sprinkle a little garlic powder or poppy seeds on top of the buttered sliders before baking for added flavor and texture.

Baking:

Covering with Foil: Covering with foil for the first 20 minutes helps steam the rolls, keeping them soft. Remove the foil for the last 10 minutes to crisp up the tops.

Even Baking: Bake the sliders on the center rack to ensure even heat distribution.

Serving:

Cooling: Allow the sliders to cool for a few minutes after baking to help them set and make them easier to cut.

Cutting: Use a serrated knife to cut through the rolls cleanly, making sure each slider is easy to serve.

Variations:

Cheese Options: Experiment with different types of cheese such as cheddar or provolone for a variation in flavor.

Add-Ins: Consider adding pickles, sautéed onions, or a layer of pineapple for extra flavor.

Make Ahead:

Preparation: You can assemble the sliders a day in advance, cover them tightly, and refrigerate until ready to bake. Just increase baking time slightly if they are chilled.

Storage:

Leftovers: Store leftover sliders in an airtight container in the refrigerator. They can be reheated in the oven at 350°F (175°C) for about 10 minutes to restore their crispiness.
