Kentucky Butter Cake Recipe

Ingredients

1 cup soft butter

2 cups of sugar

4 eggs, room temperature

2 teaspoons of vanilla extract

3 cups all-purpose flour

1 teaspoon baking powder

1/2 teaspoon baking soda

1/2 teaspoon salt

1 cup of milk

Butter Sauce:

1 cup sugar

1/2 cup butter cut into cubes

1/4 cup water

1-1/2 teaspoon of vanilla extract

Instructions

In bowl, beat butter & sugar to light and fluffy. Add the eggs one at a time and beat well after each addition. Beating in vanilla. Mix flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt; Add to the cream mixture alternately with the milk, beating well after each addition.

Pour into a 10-inch saucepan, greased with butter, and filtered with flour. tube mold. Bake at 350 degrees , 55-70 minutes. Cool for 10 minutes. Run a knife around the edges and center tube of the mould. Invert cake onto rack on waxed paper.
