Ingredients

2 cups raw piñon nuts, shelled and cleaned

1 tablespoon olive oil or melted butter (optional)

Salt, to taste (optional)

Other seasonings of your choice, such as garlic powder, chili powder, or rosemary (optional)

Instructions

Preheat your oven to 350°F (180°C).

Inspect and clean the piñon nuts.

Season the nuts with olive oil or melted butter and desired seasonings (optional).

Spread the nuts on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat.

Roast the piñon nuts for 7-10 minutes, until they turn a light golden brown and emit a nutty aroma.

Cool the nuts and enjoy as a snack or in your favorite recipes.

Notes

Store leftover roasted piñon nuts in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week.

Keep a close eye on the nuts while roasting, as they can burn quickly.
