An Absolutely Delicious Italian Meatloaf

How to make Italian Meatloaf

– The Italian Meat Loaf is a tender and delicious meatloaf made with a mixture of ground meat and Italian sausage. Cooked in a rich tomato sauce and topped with a thick layer of fontina cheese. Very delicious!

– This is one of my favorite meatloaf . The leftovers make for a great meatloaf sandwich.

– The binding agents in this meatloaf are eggs and crushed salted nuts and they do a great job of putting it together. It can be cut into nice durable slices which is one of the reasons why it makes a great sandwich out of meatloaf.

– Salt adds much more flavor to meatloaf than breadcrumbs. There is a whole sleeve of pretzel biscuits in this Italian meatloaf that sounds like a lot. But believe me, it’s the right amount.

– This meatloaf feeds a lot of people. A family of 4 should get 2 meals from it.

– In addition to a thick layer of fontina cheese on top, Parmesan cheese is added to the meatloaf mixture. The meatloaf is cooked in a rich tomato sauce that comes most of the time until the meatloaf. Cooking it in tomato sauce makes it really moist.

– There are a handful of crushed red pepper flakes added to the sauce and frothy the meat for a little bit of heat. If you want more heat, double the amount in your sauce or meatloaf. Doubling up both of them might be powerful.

Ingredients

– 1 pound ground meat

– 1/2 pound ground Italian sausage

– 1 small onion, finely chopped

– 1/2 c sweet pepper

– 1 tsp. olive oil

– 1 tsp Worce stershire sauce

– 1 clove minced garlic

– 1/2 tsp Spices

– 1/2 tsp Basil

– 1/2 tsp Parsley

– 1 egg

– 3/4 Italian bread Crumbs

– 2 tranches white bread crumbled

– 1 T milk

– 8 oz. mozzarella

– 1/4 cheese

– 1 c. Marinara sauce, plus an additional 1/2 -3/4 m for garnishing

How to make it

– In a small frying pan, heat the olive oil over a medium. On a high heat and fry the onion and pepper for 3-4 minutes, remove from heat. In a big bowl, adding meat, onions, also pepper, over with all remaining ingredients & reserve 3/4 ° C mozzarella cheese for garnish.
