Receta de Salsa
Ingredients:
6 good red tomatoes
8 to 10 chiles de árbol
Half a white onion
1/2 onion, diced
1 bunch of chopped cilantro or the portion you like to add
4 cloves of garlic
A handful of oregano
Salt to taste
Instructions:
Boil the tomatoes, chiles and onion for about 10 minutes, turn off and wait for it to cool a bit, blend everything together with the garlic cloves, oregano and a little of the water where the chiles boiled.
Add the salt, blend and empty into a container.
Finally, add the cilantro and the finely chopped onion.
Notes:
Adjust Heat Level: If you prefer a milder salsa, reduce the number of chiles de árbol, or substitute with a milder chili variety. For more heat, you can add extra chiles.
Tomato Choice: Opt for ripe, red tomatoes to enhance the flavor of the salsa. You can also roast or char them for a smoky taste.
Consistency: If you prefer a chunkier salsa, pulse the ingredients in the blender rather than fully blending them. For a smoother salsa, blend until completely pureed.
Customization: Feel free to add ingredients like lime juice for acidity or roasted tomatillos for a tangy twist.
Serving Suggestions: This salsa pairs well with tacos, grilled meats, eggs, or as a dip for tortilla chips.
Storage: Keep the salsa in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3-5 days. The flavors will deepen over time.
Herb Alternatives: If you’re not a fan of cilantro, you can substitute with parsley or leave out the fresh herbs altogether.
