Swedish Pizza Salad
Ingredients
1/2 head green cabbage, thinly sliced or shredded
1 1/2 teaspoons salt
3 tablespoons olive oil
1/4 cup white vinegar
2 to 3 tablespoons granulated sugar, adjusted to taste
1 tablespoon dried oregano
1 teaspoon dried basil
3/4 teaspoon black pepper
1 teaspoon red pepper flakes
Instructions
Thinly slice or shred the green cabbage, then place it in a large mixing bowl.
Sprinkle the salt over the cabbage and toss well until the cabbage is evenly coated. Let it sit for about 10 minutes so it can soften slightly and release some moisture.
In a separate small bowl, whisk together the olive oil, white vinegar, sugar, oregano, basil, black pepper, and red pepper flakes until the dressing is well combined.
Pour the dressing over the softened cabbage and toss until all the cabbage is evenly coated.
Cover the bowl and refrigerate the salad for at least 1 hour before serving. This resting time helps the cabbage absorb the dressing and gives the salad its best flavor
