Chocolate Satin Frosting
Ingredients
3 1/2 ounces unsweetened chocolate (baking variety)
3 cups confectioners’ sugar
4 1/2 tablespoons hot water
1 large egg, brought to room temperature
1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened at room temperature
1 1/2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
Instructions
Place the chocolate in a microwave-safe bowl and melt it in 30-second intervals, stirring between each, until fully melted and smooth.
Add the powdered sugar and hot water to the melted chocolate. Mix well.
Beat in the egg, butter, and vanilla extract until the mixture is smooth and free of lumps.
The frosting will appear thin at this stage. Prepare a larger bowl filled with ice and a small amount of water.
Set the bowl of frosting over the ice bath and whip until the frosting thickens to a spreadable consistency.
Use immediately to frost Feathery Fudge Cake or any cake of your choice. Enjoy!
