Italian Christmas Dip
Italian Christmas Dip
Ingredients
16 ounces cream cheese, softened to room temperature
½ cup mayonnaise (or substitute with mascarpone for richer Italian flavor)
½ teaspoon garlic powder
½ teaspoon onion powder
½ teaspoon salt
⅓ cup chopped roasted red peppers, drained
⅓ cup chopped marinated artichoke hearts, drained well
¼ cup finely chopped sun-dried tomatoes (oil-packed, drained)
1 teaspoon dried Italian seasoning
1 cup shredded Italian cheese blend
(mozzarella + Parmesan, or use shredded provolone)
Optional: 1 tablespoon chopped fresh basil or parsley for garnish
Instructions
1. Blend the Creamy Base
In a medium mixing bowl, beat the softened cream cheese and mayonnaise (or mascarpone) together until smooth, fluffy, and well combined.
2. Season the Mixture
Add the garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and Italian seasoning.
Mix well to evenly distribute the herbs and aromatics.
3. Add the Italian Mix-Ins
Fold in the roasted red peppers, chopped artichoke hearts, and sun-dried tomatoes.
Add the shredded Italian cheese blend and gently mix until everything is evenly incorporated and colorful.
4. Chill to Develop the Flavors
Cover the bowl and refrigerate the dip for about 30 minutes.
This allows the Italian ingredients to mingle and the dip to thicken slightly.
5. Serve
Stir once more, then transfer the dip to a serving bowl.
Garnish with fresh basil or parsley if desired.
Serve with:
Toasted baguette slices
Breadsticks (grissini)
Crackers
Crostini
