Frequently Asked Questions:
Can I replace the cream cheese with another type of cheese?
Cream cheese works best in this recipe because of its spreadable texture and mild flavor. However, you could also use a soft goat cheese or ricotta cheese. Be aware that these substitutions might alter the taste of the roll-ups.
How can I make these roll-ups vegan?
To make these roll-ups vegan, you could use vegan cream cheese, vegan mayo, and vegan cheese. Be sure to check the tortillas as well, as some brands may contain lard or other animal-derived ingredients.
Why do I need to chill the roll-ups before serving?
Chilling the roll-ups helps them hold their shape and makes them easier to slice. If you’re short on time, you could reduce the chilling time, but be aware that they might be a bit messier to slice and eat.
Is there a gluten-free option for this recipe?
Yes, you can make these roll-ups gluten-free by using gluten-free tortillas. Make sure to read the label to ensure the tortillas are truly gluten-free.
