Orange Croissant Breakfast Bake

Orange Croissant Breakfast Bake
Ingredients
4 croissants, roughly chopped
1 cup orange marmalade
1 (8-ounce) package cream cheese, softened to room temperature
½ cup granulated sugar
2 large eggs
1 cup whole milk
Zest of 1 orange
½ teaspoon almond extract
Instructions
Preheat the Oven
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
Lightly grease a 2-quart baking dish (an 8-inch square dish works well) with butter or nonstick spray.
Prepare the Cream Cheese Mixture
In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened cream cheese with an electric mixer until smooth and fluffy, about 3 minutes.
Add the granulated sugar and continue beating until fully blended.
Mix in the eggs, milk, orange zest, and almond extract until the mixture is smooth and well combined.
Assemble the Bake
Add the chopped croissants to the prepared baking dish.
Spoon dollops of orange marmalade throughout the croissants, gently stirring or nestling it in so it’s evenly distributed.
Add the Custard Layer
Pour the cream cheese mixture evenly over the croissant pieces, making sure all the bread is coated.
Cover the dish tightly with foil.
Bake
Bake for 30 minutes, covered.
Remove the foil and continue baking for an additional 15 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
Cool and Serve
Allow the bake to cool slightly before serving.
Dust with powdered sugar if desired, and enjoy!
