What You Need:

6 kale leaves

3 carrots

2 red apples, peeled and sliced

1 beetroot (medium)

Zest from ½ lemon

1-inch (2.5 cm) piece of fresh ginger

1–2 cups of cold filtered water

Optional: a few ice cubes

Make sure to wash and peel the lemon, beets, and carrots.

Verify that the produce you buy is organic.

How to Make It:

Prep the produce: Wash everything thoroughly. Peel the lemon, beet, and carrots.

Check your ingredients: Make sure everything is fresh and, ideally, organic.

Blend: Add all ingredients into a blender along with 1–2 cups of water.

Strain: Pour the blended mixture through a fine mesh strainer or cheesecloth to separate the juice.

Stir: Use a spoon to stir the juice so it’s well mixed.

Serve: Pour into a glass. Add a few ice cubes if you prefer it chilled.

Store: Keep leftover juice in a sealed glass jar in the refrigerator for up to 24 hours.

Use Caution:

If you have a citrus allergy, ulcer, or heartburn, you should avoid eating lemon.

– If you are on any medications for blood pressure, heart conditions, or antacids, it is also not a good idea to take this.

If you have renal illness or are on anticoagulant medication, you should not eat beets.
