Notes:

Type of Potatoes: Yukon Gold potatoes are ideal for their buttery texture, but you can also use red or russet potatoes. Just ensure they are cut into similar-sized chunks for even cooking.

Sausage Variations: While Polish sausage is traditional, feel free to experiment with other types of sausage, such as kielbasa or smoked sausage, for different flavor profiles.

Sauerkraut Prep: If you prefer a milder flavor, rinse the sauerkraut under cold water before adding it to the crockpot. This will reduce its tanginess.

Broth Options: You can substitute chicken broth with vegetable or beef broth, depending on your flavor preference.

Additions: For extra flavor, consider adding diced onions, garlic, or even apple slices for a hint of sweetness.

Cooking Time: Cooking on low for 6-8 hours is an option if you prefer a slower cook. The dish will become more tender and flavorful.

Leftovers: This dish stores well in the refrigerator and can be reheated. The flavors tend to deepen after a day in the fridge.

Serving Suggestions: Serve with crusty bread or over a bed of rice for a heartier meal.

Garnish: Fresh parsley or dill can be added just before serving for a pop of color and freshness.

Adjusting Seasoning: Taste before serving, and adjust salt and pepper to your liking, especially if you’re using broth that may already contain salt.
