No-Knead Cheesy Bread
No-Knead Cheesy Bread
Ingredients
3 cups all-purpose flour
2 teaspoons instant yeast
1 teaspoon fine salt
1 ½ cups warm water
1 ½ cups shredded cheese (Cheddar, mozzarella, or a blend of your favorites)
Instructions
Step 1: Mix the Dough
In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, instant yeast, and salt.
Pour in the warm water and stir until the mixture comes together into a sticky, shaggy dough.
Step 2: Let It Rise
Cover the bowl tightly with plastic wrap and leave it at room temperature for 12–18 hours.
During this time, the dough will expand and develop bubbles.
Step 3: Heat the Oven and Pot
Preheat the oven to 450°F (230°C).
Place a Dutch oven or heavy, lidded oven-safe pot inside the oven as it preheats so it becomes very hot.
Step 4: Shape and Add Cheese
When the oven is ready, carefully remove the heated pot.
Lightly flour the bottom to prevent sticking, then transfer the risen dough into the pot.
Scatter the shredded cheese evenly over the surface of the dough.
Step 5: Bake in Two Stages
Cover with the lid and bake for 30 minutes.
Then, remove the lid and continue baking for another 10–15 minutes, until the loaf is deeply golden and the cheese has melted into the crust.
Step 6: Cool Before Slicing
Carefully lift the bread from the pot and place it on a wire rack.
Allow it to cool slightly before slicing and serving warm.
