Heather Kelley, 35, was reported missing on December 10 when she did not return back home to her children. The mother-of-eight from Michigan called them at 10.20 pm, saying she was heading home. She had left her house an hour earlier that night.

On Monday, December 19, 2022, officials announced they suspect foul play in her disappearance. Her abandoned truck was found the day after she disappeared about three miles from where she’d been spotted on camera outside a business in the Comstock area, reports PEOPLE.

The Michigan mom has a lion and rose tattoo on her right forearm. She also has a dream catcher tattoo on her left forearm. According to FOX 17, she always wears a silver heart necklace, police said. “There’s a lot of work to it, especially if things look to be more than just a runaway, or maybe somebody went out of town, and the person reporting is unaware they went out of town,” explained Portage Director of Public Safety Nicholas Armold, adding that his team of investigators has been “working essentially around the clock” since she was reported missing.

During a December 19 press conference, officials announced they now suspect foul in her disappearance based on evidence they found within Kelley’s abandoned vehicle.

According to Kalamazoo County Sheriff Richard Fuller, there is currently a person of interest in the case in custody on an unrelated charge. “We believe that person has some information that can help us locate our missing person,” he said.

Officials are hopeful that she is alive and are in touch with her family. They added that they are continuing to work on the investigation as a missing person case. “We’re going to continue moving forward on the basis that we’re going to find her, and as a decent human being, I’m hoping we find her healthy and happy and we can return her to her family,” added Nicholas Armold.

Her family is devastated and fear the worst. Her paternal grandfather told WOOD-TV, “If you had anything to do with it, confess, get it over with. Don’t make people suffer,” Stephen Martin Sr., of Kalamazoo said. “I just want to know if she’s alive. If she’s not, I can get on with it better, but I can’t without knowing. I don’t believe the kids should have to suffer, them poor kids.”

Heather Kelley is 5 feet 10 inches and weighs about 130 lbs. She has long blond hair and several tattoos. Anyone with information regarding the case or her whereabouts should call Kalamazoo County Central Dispatch at (269) 488-8911 or 911.
