Notes:
Crockpot Liner: Using a liner can make clean-up easier, but spraying with non-stick spray works too.
Potato Type: Russet potatoes are ideal for their starchiness, which helps thicken the dish. Other varieties can be used but may alter texture.
Sausage Variations: Feel free to use different types of smoked sausage (like andouille or kielbasa) for varying flavors.
Creole Seasoning: Adjust the amount based on your spice preference or use a different seasoning blend if desired.
Soup Alternatives: Cream of Chicken or Cream of Celery soups can be substituted for a different flavor profile.
Consistency: For a thicker dish, reduce the amount of milk. For a creamier texture, add a bit more milk.
Vegetable Add-ins: Consider adding vegetables like bell peppers or carrots for extra nutrition and flavor.
Cooking Time: Ensure the potatoes are tender before serving. Cooking times can vary based on crockpot size and type.
Storage: Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. Reheat thoroughly before eating.
Freezing: This dish can be frozen for up to 3 months. To reheat, thaw overnight in the fridge and then warm on the stovetop or in the microwave.
