Crackers with Bacon Flavor

Ingredients

30 Townhouse or Club crackers (rectangular shape)

8-10 slices of premium bacon

½ cup of brown sugar

1 teaspoon of red pepper chili flakes (optional, for added heat)

A pinch of freshly ground black pepper

Instructions

Start by preheating your oven to 350°F (175°C).

Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or aluminum foil, making sure it completely covers the surface.

Place a wire rack on the lined baking sheet. This step is crucial for ensuring proper air circulation and even cooking.

Arrange the 30 crackers on the wire rack, spacing them out so they do not overlap.

Slice the bacon into thirds or quarters, depending on the size of both the bacon and the crackers. Then, center a piece of bacon on each cracker.

Evenly distribute brown sugar over each bacon-topped cracker, ensuring the bacon is fully covered.

The brown sugar will caramelize in the oven, enhancing the flavor and binding the bacon to the cracker.

If you like a bit of spice, lightly dust the red pepper chili flakes and freshly ground black pepper over each cracker.

Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, keeping an eye on it to ensure the brown sugar melts and the bacon becomes crisp.

Allow the crackers to cool to room temperature before serving to achieve the best texture and flavor.
