3-Ingredient Cake Mix Cobbler
3-Ingredient Cake Mix Cobbler
Ingredients
Frozen fruit – 2 ½ cups
Use your favorite variety such as peaches, berries, or a mixed blend. Frozen fruit works best since it holds its shape and releases juices while baking.
Cake mix – 1 box (about 15–16 oz)
White cake mix gives a light and fluffy topping, but yellow, vanilla, or even lemon cake mix can add a unique twist.
Clear soda – 2 to 2 ½ cups
Sprite is the classic choice, but 7-Up, Sierra Mist, or any lemon-lime soda works well. The soda adds moisture, lightness, and a bubbly golden crust.
Instructions
Step 1: Preheat the oven
Set your oven to 350°F (175°C) and allow it to preheat fully.
This ensures your cobbler bakes evenly and develops a golden top.
Step 2: Prepare the baking dish
Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish lightly with butter or cooking spray.
Using the right dish size is important so the layers cook consistently.
Step 3: Add the fruit
Spread the frozen fruit evenly across the bottom of the prepared dish.
There’s no need to thaw—it will release its juices during baking to create a luscious filling.
Step 4: Layer with cake mix
Sprinkle the dry cake mix evenly over the fruit.
Do not stir or mix—simply ensure the fruit is completely covered for an even crust.
Step 5: Pour in the soda
Slowly drizzle 2 to 2 ½ cups of Sprite (or another clear soda) over the cake mix.
Pour as evenly as possible to moisten all areas and avoid dry patches.
The carbonation will help form a crisp, bubbly topping.
Step 6: Bake to perfection
Place the dish in the oven and bake for about 45 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the filling is bubbling at the edges.
Step 7: Serve and enjoy
Let the cobbler rest for a few minutes before serving.
Enjoy it warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a dollop of whipped cream for a perfectly balanced dessert.
