Slow Cooker Lipton Onion Potatoes

Slow Cooker Lipton Onion Potatoes

Ingredients

Main Ingredients:

6 large potatoes, thinly sliced (peeled if desired)

1 packet Lipton Onion Soup Mix

⅓ cup butter, melted

½ cup chicken broth or water

Salt and pepper, to taste

Optional Additions:

1 cup shredded cheddar cheese, for a creamy, melty finish

Cooking spray or butter, for greasing the slow cooker

Instructions

Prepare the Slow Cooker

Lightly grease the inside of your slow cooker with cooking spray or butter to prevent sticking and make cleanup easier.

Slice the Potatoes

Wash the potatoes thoroughly and peel them if preferred.

Cut them into thin, even slices to ensure they cook uniformly and turn tender all the way through.

Season and Coat

In a large mixing bowl, combine the sliced potatoes with the melted butter. Toss gently to coat each slice.

Sprinkle in the Lipton Onion Soup mix, then stir until the seasoning is evenly distributed and every potato is flavored.

Add Cheese (Optional)

If you’re adding cheese, fold in the shredded cheddar at this stage for a rich, creamy touch that melts perfectly as the dish cooks.

Layer and Add Liquid

Transfer the seasoned potatoes to your prepared slow cooker, layering them evenly.

Pour the chicken broth or water over the top — this helps steam the potatoes and keeps them moist and tender.

Cook Low and Slow

Cover and cook on LOW for 5–6 hours or HIGH for 2–3 hours, until the potatoes are fork-tender and the flavors have melded beautifully.

Taste and Adjust

Once cooked, give the potatoes a gentle stir. Taste and adjust with salt and pepper to suit your preference.

Serve and Enjoy

Serve hot straight from the slow cooker as a comforting, savory side dish — perfect for weeknights, potlucks, or family gatherings.

Each bite brings together buttery softness, oniony richness, and pure cozy satisfaction.
