Cheesy Pepperoni Pizza Tacos with Seasoned Beef and Melty Mozzarella
Cheesy Pepperoni Pizza Tacos with Seasoned Beef and Melty Mozzarella
Ingredients
Taco shells – 8 to 10 (hard or soft, your choice)
Ground beef or Italian sausage – 1 pound
Onion – 1 medium, finely chopped
Garlic – 2 cloves, minced
Pizza sauce or marinara – 1 cup
Italian seasoning – 1 teaspoon
Red pepper flakes – ½ teaspoon (optional)
Salt and freshly ground black pepper – to taste
Mozzarella cheese – 1 ½ cups, shredded
Mini pepperoni or chopped pepperoni – ½ cup
Parmesan cheese – ¼ cup, grated
Fresh basil or parsley – chopped, for garnish
Olive oil – for cooking
Instructions
1. Cook the filling
Heat a drizzle of olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and sauté for 3–4 minutes until softened. Add the ground beef (or sausage), breaking it apart with a spoon, and cook until browned and fully cooked. Stir in the garlic and cook for 30 seconds until fragrant.
2. Season and simmer
Drain any excess fat from the skillet. Stir in the pizza sauce, Italian seasoning, red pepper flakes (if using), and a pinch of salt and pepper. Reduce heat and let the mixture simmer for about 5 minutes so the flavors come together.
3. Assemble the tacos
Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Arrange taco shells upright in a baking dish or on a foil-lined baking sheet. Spoon the meat mixture evenly into each shell. Top with mozzarella, pepperoni slices, and a sprinkle of Parmesan.
4. Bake until melty
Bake for 8–10 minutes, or until the cheese is melted, bubbly, and slightly golden.
5. Garnish and serve
Remove from the oven and finish with fresh basil or parsley. Serve warm with your favorite pizza toppings or dipping sauces like ranch or marinara.
