Hamburger Green Bean Casserole
Hamburger Green Bean Casserole
Ingredients
1 pound ground beef
1/2 medium onion, finely diced
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
2 cups cooked green beans (fresh, steamed, or canned and drained)
1 can (10.5 oz) cream of mushroom soup
1/2 cup sour cream
1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
1 cup crispy fried onions (store-bought or homemade)
Instructions:
Cook the beef mixture:
In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef with the diced onion and minced garlic until the meat is browned and the onion is tender. Drain off any excess grease. Stir in Worcestershire sauce, and season with salt and pepper to taste.
Prepare the creamy base:
In a separate bowl, whisk together the cream of mushroom soup and sour cream until smooth and well combined.
Assemble the casserole:
Lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish. Spread the beef mixture evenly on the bottom, followed by a layer of green beans. Pour the soup mixture over the top and spread to cover. Sprinkle with shredded cheddar and mozzarella cheese.
Add the crispy topping:
Evenly distribute the crispy fried onions over the top of the casserole.
Bake until bubbly:
Bake in a preheated 350°F (175°C) oven for 25–30 minutes, or until hot and bubbling around the edges and the cheese is fully melted.
Cool and serve:
Let the casserole rest for about 5 minutes before slicing. Serve warm and enjoy the cozy, cheesy goodness.
