Pan de Leche (sweet rolls)

Ingredients:

1 cup warm milk

1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted

1 large egg

2 teaspoons instant yeast

3¼ cups all-purpose flour

1/4 cup white sugar ( can add up to 1/2c. for sweeter rolls)

1 teaspoon salt

1 egg +2 tbsps milk to brush on rolls before baking

vegetable oil for coating the bowl

3 tbsps melted butter to top rolls

Instructions:

In a large bowl Mix warm milk, melted butter and an egg. add in the yeast and whisk,add in the sugar and salt make sure its mixed well.

Whisk in flour until it forms a dough, cover bowl with plastic wrap and let rest 20 minutes before kneading. Remove from bowl and knead for 7 minutes until smooth & elastic.

Form a ball and place back in an oiled bowl cover with plastic wrap about an hour or until it doubles in size.

Remove from bowl and divide the dough into 12 even sized balls(may do smaller size and get 18 rolls).

Shape the dough into rolls tucking the ends down and then rubbing them to seal.

Roll them on the countertop to make smooth.

Place rolls onto a 12 x 18 inch baking sheet.

Cover the sheet with plastic wrap and allow to rest 30 minutes.

Brush egg wash on top of rolls before baking.

Bake in a preheated oven at 350 degrees for 15-18 minutes.

Brush melted butter on top of rolls while still warm.
