How to make Fried Apple or Peach Pies

Ingredients

1 cup butter, unsalted and softened

1 tbsp white granulated sugar

6 ounces cream cheese at room temperature

2 tsp cinnamon

1 tbsp vanilla

2 cups all purpose flour

Filling:

1 can apple pie filling

For topping:

2 tbsp granulated sugar

1 tsp cinnamon

Instructions

Preheat the oven to 350*

In a mixing bowl, combine the softened butter with the cream cheese, beat until smooth

Add the vanilla, flour, 1 tbsp sugar and the 2 tsp cinnamon. Mix until dough forms

Lightly flour a flat surface, place dough in the center and roll it out until it is ¼ inch thick

Using a round, 3 inch biscuit cutter, cut out 40 circles of the dough

Put the pie filling into a bowl and mash it so you have no more large chunks of apples

Place a small spoonful of dough in the center of 15 circles

Cover with another cut circle of pie dough

Crimp the edges of each combined circle with the tines of a fork

Bake for 20 to 25 minutes, until golden brown and cooked through.

Mix the garnish and sprinkle onto each cookie
