2 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil – for sautéing and flavor depth
1 pound ground beef – lean or regular, depending on your preference for richness
1 medium yellow onion, finely chopped – adds sweetness and body
5 fresh garlic cloves, minced – for bold, aromatic flavor
1 teaspoon Italian seasoning – a blend of herbs to enhance the sauce
1 teaspoon salt – or adjust to taste
½ teaspoon freshly ground black pepper – for balance and warmth
1 cup heavy cream – creates the luscious, velvety base
½ cup unsalted butter – melts into the sauce for richness
1 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese – sharp, nutty, and creamy
Fresh parsley, finely chopped – for garnish and a pop of freshness
Instructions
Cook the Pasta
Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the spaghetti and cook until al dente, according to package directions. Drain well and set aside.
Brown the Beef
In a wide skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the ground beef, breaking it apart with a spatula, and cook until evenly browned.
Sauté Aromatics
Stir in the chopped onion and minced garlic. Cook for 2–3 minutes, until the onion softens and the garlic becomes fragrant.
Season
Sprinkle in the Italian seasoning, salt, and black pepper. Stir well to coat the beef with the spices.
Build the Sauce
Add the butter to the skillet, letting it melt into the beef mixture. Pour in the heavy cream and stir. Let the sauce gently simmer for a few minutes, thickening slightly.
Add Parmesan
Stir in the grated Parmesan cheese until it melts smoothly into the sauce, creating a rich and creamy texture.
Combine with Pasta
Add the cooked spaghetti to the skillet and toss until every strand is well coated with the creamy garlic butter sauce.
Finish & Serve
Sprinkle with fresh parsley and extra Parmesan before serving.
