How To Make Chicken Alfredo Lasagna
Ingredients
3 cups of cooked, shredded chicken
1 small onion, diced
2 cloves minced garlic
10 ounces fresh baby spinach
4 cups of heavy cream
15 lasagna noodles (precooked or oven ready)
1 ½ tsp salt
1 tsp black pepper
1 ½ cup parmesan cheese, grated finely
15 ounces of ricotta cheese
3 cups mozzarella cheese, shredded
2 tbsp unsalted butter
Instructions
Put 2 tbsp of unsalted butter in a skillet heated on medium high, add in the onion and garlic. Saute until translucent.
Add the spinach and stir until the spinach wilts
Add the 4 cups of heavy cream, parmesan cheese, salt and pepper, the ricotta cheese and the chicken
When the cream comes to a slight simmering stage, remove the pan from the heat, stir well and set to the side.
In the bottom of a sprayed 9 x 13 baking pan, spoon a layer of the sauce mix and top with a layer of the noodles, spread some filling mix on that and sprinkle with the mozzarella cheese.
Repeat Step 5 until you are out of the filling mix, or you can no longer add another layer in the pan.
Cover with aluminum foil and bake in a preheated 350* oven for 30 to 35 minutes.
Remove the foil and let sit under the low broil setting for two minutes to brown the top cheese.
Enjoy!
Notes:
Preparation: Start by cooking and shredding the chicken beforehand to save time. Dice the onion, mince the garlic, and gather all other ingredients for easy access.
Layering: The lasagna is assembled in layers, starting with a layer of the creamy sauce mixture followed by lasagna noodles, then a layer of filling mix, and finally a generous sprinkling of mozzarella cheese. Repeat this process until all ingredients are used up or the pan is full.
Creamy Sauce: The rich and creamy Alfredo sauce is made by combining heavy cream, Parmesan cheese, salt, pepper, ricotta cheese, and cooked chicken. Cook the sauce until it reaches a slight simmer, stirring constantly to ensure a smooth texture.
Vegetable Addition: Fresh baby spinach adds vibrant color, flavor, and nutritional value to the dish. Saute the spinach with the onion and garlic until wilted before adding it to the sauce mixture.
Cheese Layers: The combination of Parmesan, ricotta, and mozzarella cheeses creates a luscious and cheesy filling that binds the layers of lasagna together. Be generous with the cheese for that gooey, indulgent texture.
Baking: Cover the assembled lasagna with aluminum foil to trap steam and prevent excessive browning. Bake in a preheated oven until heated through and bubbly, then remove the foil and broil briefly to achieve a golden-brown crust on top.
Resting: Allow the lasagna to rest for a few minutes after baking to set and cool slightly before serving. This helps prevent the layers from collapsing when sliced.
Serving: Serve the Chicken Alfredo Lasagna hot, accompanied by a side salad or garlic bread for a complete meal. Enjoy the creamy, cheesy goodness with family and friends!
