Oven Baked Cowboy Butter Pasta

Oven Baked Cowboy Butter Pasta

Ingredients

12 oz uncooked spaghetti (regular or thin variety)

1 cup (2 sticks) salted butter, melted and slightly cooled

4 garlic cloves, very finely chopped (or about 1 tablespoon pre-minced garlic)

2 tablespoons dried Italian herb blend (or a dried parsley mix)

1 teaspoon salt, adjust based on taste and the saltiness of the butter (optional)

1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper, or to preference (optional)

2 1/2 cups hot water, used to cook the pasta in the oven

Instructions:

Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Lightly coat a 9×13-inch ceramic baking dish with butter or nonstick spray to prevent sticking.

Snap the dry spaghetti in half so it fits comfortably in the dish. Arrange the noodles in an even layer—don’t worry if they overlap slightly.

In a mixing bowl or large measuring cup, combine the melted butter, garlic, Italian seasoning (or parsley blend), salt, and black pepper. Stir until everything is well blended and evenly distributed.

Slowly add the hot water to the butter mixture, whisking until fully combined. The liquid should resemble a light, golden broth infused with herbs.

Pour this mixture evenly over the pasta in the baking dish. Use tongs or a fork to gently push the noodles down so they are mostly submerged in the liquid.

Cover the dish tightly with aluminum foil to trap steam and help the pasta cook evenly.

Bake for 25 minutes. Remove the foil carefully to avoid steam burns, then toss the pasta to separate any clumps and ensure all strands are coated in the sauce.

Place the dish back in the oven, uncovered, and continue baking for another 10–15 minutes. Stir once more halfway through if needed. The pasta is ready when it’s tender, most of the liquid has been absorbed, and the top is slightly golden.

Give everything a final toss to coat the noodles thoroughly in the buttery, garlicky sauce. Let the pasta rest for a few minutes before serving, allowing the sauce to thicken slightly. Serve warm directly from the dish, making sure each portion gets plenty of sauce and herbs.
