Beer Cheese Bread
Beer Cheese Bread
Ingredients:
1 tablespoon butter, for greasing pan
3 cups all-purpose flour
2 1/2 tablespoons granulated sugar
1 tablespoon baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
1 ½ teaspoons garlic powder
1 1/4 cups shredded cheddar cheese
2 tablespoon fresh chives, chopped
12 oz light beer, pilsner or lager
2 tablespoons melted butter
Instructions:
Preheat the Oven & Prepare the Pan:
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan with 1 tablespoon of butter and set it aside.
Mix Dry Ingredients:
In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and garlic powder until evenly combined.
Add Cheese & Chives:
Stir in the shredded cheddar cheese and chopped chives, ensuring they’re evenly distributed throughout the flour mixture.
Incorporate the Beer:
Slowly pour in the 12 oz of beer and gently mix just until no dry streaks remain. Do not overmix—the batter should be thick but slightly lumpy.
Transfer to Pan & Add Butter:
Spoon the batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top. Drizzle the melted butter evenly over the surface of the batter.
Bake & Cool:
Bake for 40–45 minutes, or until the top is golden and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
Let the loaf cool in the pan for 10–15 minutes before removing and slicing.
